LIFE CYCLE COST FOR AIR CONDITIONERS

HOW TO PURCHASE AIR CONDITIONERS
1). COOLING LOAD ESTIMATION
Do not estimate the cooling load according to the room area or
Volume.
Calculate the total heat gain.
Total heat gain includes
1). Transmission load
2). Infiltration load
3). Solar load
4). Internal load.
2). REFRIGERANT
There are newly introduced refrigerants to protect the environment.
Do not select the refrigerant that are going to be phased out.
If such an air conditioner is purchased, in future it may not be able
to repair it.
R-32 is going to be the next generation refrigerant.
Still there are refrigerants like R-410A and R 407C are in use.
But they will be replaced with R-32 and R-290
But the flammability of R-290 is higher than that of R-32
3). ENERGY EFFICIENCY
It is necessary to purchase air conditioners with low power
Consumption to reduce electricity bills.
Inverter type air conditioners consume considerably less power than
non-inverter types.
Among the inverter type air conditioners, air conditioners with
reluctance DC motors saves more energy than other types of
motors. These motors use neodymium magnets which are more
power full than ferrite magnets. Daikin patented swing compressor
saves more energy than others.
4). REGISTERED MANUFACTURERS BRNAD WITH CERTIFICATION.
Always purchase registered brands under manufacturers
Registration. Then manufacturer will be responsible for the
Products. Brand registration under non manufacturer will not be
a wise selection.
